Apple Crumble
After a trip to the orchard, there’s nothing better than apple crumble. And this cinnamon-filled recipe will have everyone coming back for seconds.

Ingredients

  • 175 ml or 3/4 cup All-Bran Original* cereal
  • 125 ml or 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 50 ml or 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 5 ml or 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 50 ml or 1/4 cup soft butter or margarine
  • 1 L or 4 cups peeled, sliced apples
  • 30 ml or 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 15 ml or 1 tbsp lemon juice

Directions

1. In medium bowl, mix together cereal, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Using pastry blender, cut in butter until crumbly. Set aside.

2. Place apples in 20 cm (8-inch) square baking pan (or 2 l casserole dish) coated with non-stick cooking spray. Sprinkle with sugar and lemon juice; toss gently. Sprinkle with cereal mixture.

3. Bake at 190°C (375°F) for about 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is light brown.

Variation: Use 2 cans (19 oz/540 ml) apple or cherry filling in place of apples.
