Caramel Bars

Ingredients

  • 1.5 L or 66 L Rice Krispies* cereal
  • 1 pkg (397g) caramels
  • 30 ml or 22 ml butter or margarine
  • 30 ml or 22 ml milk

Directions

1. Unwrap caramels and place in large microwaveable glass bowl. Add butter and milk. Microwave** at HIGH 3 - 4 minutes or until melted and smooth, stirring after each minute.***

2. Add cereal, stirring until evenly coated.

3. Press evenly into lightly buttered 3.5 L ( 13 x 9" ) pan. Let stand until firm. Cut into bars.

** Cooking times are for 700 watt microwave ovens; increase by 15 - 30 seconds for lower wattage ovens.

*** Step 1 may be done on stove top in large saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
