Cheesy Fish 'n Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 750 ml or 33 ml Kellogg's Corn Flake Crumbs*
  • 30 ml or 22 ml butter,
  • 50 ml or 1/41/4 ml butter
  • 50 ml or 1/41/4 ml all-purpose flour
  • 2 ml or 1/21/2 ml salt
  • 1 ml or 1/41/4 ml pepper
  • 2 ml or 1/21/2 ml dry mustard
  • 500 ml or 22 ml milk
  • 250 ml or 11 ml grated old Cheddar cheese (114 g/ 4 oz)
  • 1 pkg or 400400 pkg frozen cod or haddock fillets,
  • 1 pkg or 300 g frozen broccoli spears

Directions

1. Combine crushed cereal and melted butter; set aside.

2. In saucepan over medium heat, melt 50 ml (1/4 cup) butter; blend in flour and seasonings. Gradually stir in milk. Cook, stirring, until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese.

3. Pour thin layer of sauce over bottom of greased 2 L (8-cup) casserole. Lay fillets in sauce. Cut broccoli spears into bite-sized pieces and mix with remaining sauce; pour over fish.

4. Top with cereal mixture and bake at 180°C (350°F) about 30 minutes or until fish and broccoli are tender.
