Chocolate Chip Cookies
Why mess with perfection? These classic favourites are filled with crunchy nuts and gooey chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 125 ml or 1/2 cup All-Bran Original* cereal
  • 625 ml or 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 ml or 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 ml or 1/4 tsp salt
  • 175 ml or 3/4 cup soft butter or margarine
  • 175 ml or 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 175 ml or 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 ml or 1 tsp vanilla
  • 50 ml or 1/4 cup hot water
  • 125 ml or 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 250 ml or 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

1. In medium bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

2. In large mixing bowl, with electric mixer, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Mix in hot water.

3. Stir in flour mixture until combined. Stir in cereal, nuts and chocolate chips.

4. Drop by rounded teaspoon about 5 cm (2 inches) apart onto baking sheet coated with non-stick cooking spray.

5. Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool for 2 minutes then remove to wire racks and cool completely. Store in airtight container.
