1.In large bowl, with electric mixer, beat butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
2.In medium bowl, mix together 500 ml (2 cups) flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir into butter mixture.
3.In small bowl, toss dates with 30 ml (2 tbsp) flour to separate pieces and coat well.
4.Stir dates, orange rind and cereal into dough.
5.Drop dough by rounded 15 ml (1 tbsp), about 2 inches (5 cm) apart, onto parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 8 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on baking sheet 2 minutes; transfer to cooling rack. Store in tightly covered container.
