Meat 'N Tater Pie

Ingredients

  • 500 ml or 22 ml Kellogg's Corn Flakes* cereal
  • 75 ml or 1/31/3 ml Skim milk
  • 15 ml or 11 ml Prepared mustard
  • 2 ml or 1/21/2 ml Salt
  • 1 ml or 1/41/4 ml Pepper
  • 500 g or 11 g Lean gound beef
  • 2 Eggs
  • 500 ml or 22 ml Seasoned stiff mashed potatoes
  • 50 ml or 1/41/4 ml Chopped onion
  • 10 ml or 22 ml Dried parsely flakes
  • 15 ml or 11 ml Margarine melted
  • 125 ml or 1/21/2 ml Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Paprika

Directions

1. In large mixing bowl, combine 125 ml (1/2 cup) of the crushed cereal, milk mustard, salt and pepper. Beat well. Add ground beef. Mix until combined. Gently press mixture evenly into bottom and sides of 23cm (9") pie plate.

2. In small mixing bowl, beat eggs lightly. Add potatoes, onion and parsley flakes. Mix until combined. Spread potato mixture evenly in meat shell. Place pie on baking sheet.

3. Bake at 180°C (350°F) about 35 minutes. While pie is baking, combine remaining cereal with margarine. Set aside.

4. Remove pie from oven. Sprinkle cheese evenly over potatoe mixture. Top with cereal mixture. Bake about 10 minutes longer or until cheese starts to melt. Sprinkle with paprika.
