Raspberry Pear Crisp
In the midst of harvest season, pears can sometimes be forgotten - but once you discover this juicy crisp pear season might forever be marked on your calendar.

Ingredients

  • 750 g or 1 1/2 lbs (about 4) ripe pears, peeled cored and sliced
  • 15 ml or 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pkg (300 g) frozen, unsweetened raspberries, thawed (375 ml or 1 1/2 cups fresh)
  • 75 ml or 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 45 ml or 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 375 ml or 1 1/2 cups All-Bran Flakes* cereal
  • 50 ml or 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 50 ml or 1/4 cup firmly-packed brown sugar
  • 50 ml or 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 50 ml or 1/4 cup butter or margarine melted

Directions

1. Combine pears, lemon juice and thawed raspberries (including juice). Mix granulated sugar with 45 ml (3 tbsp) flour and blend into fruit. Turn into 1.5 L (6-cup) casserole.

2. Thoroughly combine cereal, oats, brown sugar, remaining flour and melted butter. Sprinkle over fruit mixture and press down lightly. Bake at 180°C (350°F) 20-25 minutes or until hot and browned.
