Applesauce Raisin Loaf
Bursting with apple flavour, this moist quick bread is a delicious way to start a lazy Saturday.

Ingredients
- 250 ml or 1 cupAll-Bran Buds* cereal
- 250 ml or 1 cupall-purpose flour
- 175 ml or 3/4 cupwhole wheat flour
- 125 ml or 1/2 cupgranulated sugar
- 10 ml or 2 tspbaking powder
- 2 ml or 1/2 tspbaking soda
- 5 ml or 1 tspground cinnamon
- 1 ml or 1/4 tspsalt
- 1 ml or 1/4 tspground nutmeg
- 250 ml or 1 cupraisins
- 375 ml or 1 1/2 cupssweetened applesauce
- 125 ml or 1/2 cupwater
- 1egg, lightly beaten
- 75 ml or 1/3 cupvegetable oil
Directions
1. Combine flours, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, soda, salt, nutmeg and raisins: set aside. 2. In large mixing bowl, combine cereal with applesauce and water. Let stand 5 minutes. Add egg and oil. Beat well. Add flour mixture, stirring just until combined. Spread evenly in greased 2 L (9 x 5") loaf pan. 3. Bake at 180°C (350°F) about 55 minutes or until wooden pick inserted near centre comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes on wire rack before removing from pan. Cool completely before slicing.
