Ingredients
- Pork
- 300g (10 oz)
pork loin or shoulder, cut into 2 cm chunks
- 1
egg, beaten
- 3 tbsp
cornstarch
- 1 cup
crushed Kellogg’s Corn FlakesⓇ cereal (adjust as needed)
- 1–2 tbsp
oil
- 1 tbsp
rice wine or cooking wine
- 1/4 tsp
salt
- 1/4 tsp
white pepper
- 1/4 tsp
garlic powder or ginger powder (optional)
- Sweet & Sour Sauce
- 2.5 tbsp
ketchup
- 1.5 tbsp
white vinegar
- 2 tbsp
sugar
- 1 tbsp
soy sauce
- 2 tbsp
water
- 1 tbsp
cornstarch slurry (1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water)

Optional: diced bell peppers, pineapple chunks
Directions
1. Marinate the Pork
o In a bowl, mix pork chunks with salt, white pepper, rice wine, and optional garlic/ginger powder.
o Let marinate for 15–20 minutes.
o Lightly pat dry before coating to remove excess moisture.
2. Coat the Pork
o Lightly coat each piece of pork in cornstarch.
o Dip into the beaten egg.
o Roll in crushed Kellogg’s Corn FlakesⓇ cereal, pressing gently to help them adhere.
3. Bake the Pork
o Preheat oven to 200°C / 392°F
o Place the coated pork in a single layer on a lightly greased baking sheet.
o Lightly spray or brush with oil.
o Bake for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
4. Make the Sweet & Sour Sauce
o Combine ketchup, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, and water.
o Stir over medium heat until it begins to bubble.
o If using, add bell peppers and pineapple and cook for 1 minute.
o Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
5. Combine & Serve
o Add the pork to the sauce and toss quickly to coat evenly.
o Do not overcook at this stage to help maintain the crispy texture.
o Serve hot with steamed rice.
