Baked Cheese Sticks

Ingredients

  • 1 L or 44 L Kellogg's Corn Flakes* cereal
  • 250 ml or 1 cup Kellogg's Corn Flake Crumbs*
  • 5 ml or 11 ml garlic salt
  • 2 ml or 1/21/2 ml dried oregano
  • 50 ml or 1/41/4 ml all-purpose flour
  • 2 or - egg whites
  • 30 ml or 22 ml water
  • 1 pkg or 227227 pkg mozzarella cheese
  • - vegetable cooking spray
  • - pizza sauce or salsa (optional)

Directions

- In pie plate or shallow bowl, combine crushed cereal or crumbs, garlic salt and oregano. In second pie plate or bowl, place flour. In another bowl, beat egg whites and water with fork until thoroughly combined.

- Cut cheese into 12 sticks approximately 7cn (2 3/4") long. Dip cheese in flour, then egg mixture, then cereal mixture.

- Carefully repeat dipping in egg mixture and cereal mixture to double coat completely. Place on foil-lined shallow baking pan, coated with cooking spray. Coat remaining cheese using the same method. Lightly spray coated cheese sticks with cooking spray. Let stand about 30 minutes.

- Bake at 200° C (400° F) about 8 minutes or until cheese is soft and sticks are lightly browned. Serve hot with pizza sauce or salsa if desired.
